WALK STARTS ¼ MILE

One of the great short walks of West Cornwall, the coastal path from Mousehole to Lamorna Cove is the kind of walk that reminds you exactly why this corner of England is so special. Approximately three miles one way along the South West Coast Path, it offers granite cliffs, startlingly turquoise water, and sweeping views across Mount's Bay for much of the route - and it begins, for guests at Polvellan Heights, practically from the doorstep.

LANDMARK 9 MILES

There are few places in England quite like Land's End. The most westerly point on the British mainland, this dramatic granite headland is where the Atlantic finally meets the cliffs of West Cornwall in a spectacle that never quite loses its power - no matter how many times you've seen it, or what the weather is doing when you arrive.

TOWN 6 MILES

Cornwall's most southerly harbour town, Porthleven is a beautiful, unhurried place that has quietly become one of the most talked-about destinations on the peninsula - and one that richly deserves the attention. A working harbour, a long south-facing beach, outstanding food, and some of the finest surf on the Cornish coast all combine to make it a genuinely compelling full afternoon and evening out.

EAT & DRINK 300 YARDS

Perched above the southern end of Mousehole harbour with extraordinary views stretching across Mount's Bay, The Old Coastguard is widely regarded as one of the finest restaurants in West Cornwall - and it's not difficult to understand why. This small, beautifully run hotel and restaurant has a quiet confidence about it that speaks of a place that knows exactly what it is and does it exceptionally well.

CULTURE

Carved by hand from the granite clifftop above Porthcurno Bay by the remarkable Rowena Cade and her gardener in the 1930s, the Minack Theatre is one of the most extraordinary and singular performance venues anywhere in Britain. The stone terracing descends in tiers to an open stage poised directly above the Atlantic, with the sea serving as both backdrop and occasional scene-stealer - particularly on summer evenings, when the light turns the water from deep blue to gold as the first act draws to a close. There is genuinely nowhere quite like it, and for guests staying in luxury apartment accommodation in Mousehole, Cornwall, it is just twenty minutes away along quiet Cornish lanes.

HERITAGE

Tucked into a sea cave near the harbour entrance, the legend of the Mousehole Cat has captivated visitors to this tiny Cornish fishing village for generations. The story - immortalised in Antonia Barber's beloved 1990 picture book - tells of Tom, the last fisherman brave enough to venture out into a terrible winter storm, guided safely home by his great striped cat, Mowzer, who sang to calm the raging sea. It is a story of courage, loyalty, and the particular kind of quiet magic that seems to belong to Mousehole more than almost anywhere else.

FOOD & DRINK

Walk north along the coast path from Mousehole for twenty minutes and you arrive in Newlyn - a working fishing port on a scale that genuinely surprises most first-time visitors. The harbour is vast, the boats are numerous, and on weekday mornings the quayside fish market handles hundreds of tonnes of freshly landed catch destined for restaurants across the length and breadth of Britain. It is a world away from the tourist Cornwall of cream teas and gift shops, and all the more fascinating, authentic, and rewarding for it. For guests staying in luxury apartment accommodation in Mousehole, Cornwall, it is also one of the easiest and most worthwhile walks of any stay.
